Real Men Cook Kicks Off 19th Annual Father's Day Celebration

Chicago -- Real Men Cook, America's premiere urban Father's Day family tradition that pays tribute to the family, will be held in 11 cities on Father’s Day, June 15. Over 30,000 people are expected to attend the celebrations, which will be held simultaneously in Atlanta, Chicago, Benton Harbor (MI), Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Washington, DC. Presented by Real Men Charities, the celebrations provide a platform where "real men" from all walks of life are honored for demonstrating extraordinary commitment to their families and communities. Since its inception, the event has raised over $1 million for participating charities whose missions reflect Real Men Cook's resolve to uplift the community. The celebration features approximately 1,000 volunteer chefs preparing their favorite dishes for the more than 30,000 people expected to attend. Real Men Cook is presented by Real Men Charities, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Chicago, which is on a national crusade to positively change the way the world views men in relationship to their families and the community and to transform how Father's Day is celebrated.

Olympic Hopefuls' Personalities Shine Like Gold

Boston -- The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games is right around the corner. Many fans may be surprised to learn about the stories and personal interests of their favorite Olympians and Olympic hopefuls.

Blackstudents.Com Re-Launches New Design And Agenda For Students

Columbus, OH -- BlackStudents.com, the premier online destination for Black and minority students to find information about college and financial aid, has just re-launched its site with a more user-friendly design and more helpful resources. The web site, which launched in 2003, has updated its format to allow students and parents to have a much easier experience when locating and applying for scholarships and internships online. Each week the latest opportunities are posted on the site with links to apply directly to the program. Some other features on the site include a free student loan calculator, PSAT/SAT secrets, a directory of Black College profiles, and various articles answering student FAQs. Diversity Business Conference Debuts In Los Angeles

Los Angeles -- Sponsored by some of America's top corporations, the Turning Point Urban Business Summit and Expo 2008 will take place from June 25 to 27, at the Sheraton Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Juan Williams Will Host World Conference For Minority Journalists

 New York -- The World Journalism Institute announced Juan Williams, senior correspondent for National Public Radio, as host of a one-day conference July 22, in Chicago, preceding UNITY '08, the largest gathering of journalists in the country. Williams is a news analyst, appearing regularly on NPR's Morning Edition and Day to Day. He is also a contributing political analyst for the Fox News. The conference will feature seminars led by John Fountain, Roosevelt University, formerly with the Chicago Tribune and New York Times and author of True Vine; Mira Lowe, Assistant Managing Editor of Johnson Publishing Company and formerly with Newsday; a panel discussion with Manny Garcia (Miami Herald), Kenny Irby (Poynter Institute), Gary Fong (formerly, San Francisco Chronicle); and Jackie Bacon, author of Freedom's Journal: The First African-American Newspaper. The conference will be held at the Chicago Hyatt Regency McCormick Place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The $50 fee includes the Williams luncheon and the latest WJI book, Minority Voices of Faith from the Newsroom.

 Black Accountants Convention In Atlanta

Greenbelt, MD -- The National Association of Black Accountants, Inc., will host its 37th Annual National Convention & Diversity Recruitment EXPO, June 10 to 14 at the Hilton Atlanta in Downtown Atlanta. This year's theme – Embracing the Power of Diversity with the Passion to Create New Possibilities – encompasses the organization's mission to continue fortifying its technical foundation while connecting to larger global and societal missions. Over these five days, Gwendolyn D. Skillern, CPA, NABA's national president and CEO (recently noted as being one of Ebony Magazine's Power 150) will lead her membership in a thorough, in-depth series of technical and educational sessions to give voice and provide resources for Blacks in the accounting and financial services professions. Nominations Open For Diverse Professionals in Advertising, Marketing and Media

New York--Nominations for the 2nd Annual ADCOLOR ™ Awards can be submitted online at www.adcolor.org by July 25. The awards, hosted by model/TV Host Veronica Webb, launched in 2007 to honor and celebrate the accomplishments of outstanding diverse professionals in the advertising, marketing and media industries.
