I guess the Wall Street bankers and brokers got
President Barack Obama’s dander up a little bit by using taxpayer dollars to pay
bonuses and attempted corporate jet purchases.
Well,
ranting and raving about how shameless the actions are of stockbrokers, bankers,
automakers and insurance companies will not benefit the American people or the
American and world economies.
I’m
not a columnist who writes a column that parrots and responds to devilish
writers. I try to write what my people want to read.
The
Gantt Report’s readers want the truth about government bailouts of America’s
richest executives and the truth is that politicians can’t do much about
bailout abuse because government is part and parcel of the financial
misconduct.
First
of all, when crimes of deceit, fraud, ponzi schemes and the like are uncovered,
the perpetrators should not be bailed out, they should be jailed!
When
paddy wagons are sent to Wall Street to arrest the financial criminals, their
second stop to make arrests should be at the U.S. Capitol!
Why?
Because the United States has a Securities and Exchange Commission, a Treasury
Department, a Commerce Department and a variety of House and Senate committees that
were created to provide oversight of economic transactions so the people would
not get ripped off!
If
politicians were arrested for conspiracy, like other citizens are arrested for
crimes, there wouldn’t be a political beast in Washington, D.C. You tell me,
why is it a problem to stop bailout recipients from misusing taxpayer bailout
funds?
It
shouldn’t be a problem because politicians love to help rich people get richer
when rich people make campaign contributions.
When
politicians don’t like you, when you do wrong or illegal things, the
politicians freeze your assets! Saddam Hussein’s assets were frozen and former
Panamanian president General Manuel Noriega’s assets were frozen. The Internal
Revenue Service can even freeze the monetary assets of common citizens.
If
bailout dollars were frozen once the government decides that federal funds were
being misappropriated and used for wrongful purposes, how many of the companies
abusing the bailout dollars would still be in business?
Seems
sort of Biblical to me: the government gives and the government can take away!
If I were President, I could stop the bailout abuse in a heartbeat!
If
other columnists would listen to the people and stop listening to Rush Limbaugh
and other devilish puppets, they could tell the people what is really going on.
Everybody
who uses bailout money to pay ridiculously huge bonuses for sending financial
institutions into money problems should have their bank accounts frozen and their
homes, cars and planes confiscated and sold to get the people’s money back.
